At-Home Projects You Can Do Right Now!

These are strange times and many of us are feeling helpless and want to do something meaningful, something that will make even a small difference.

Below are several ways you can touch someone's heart, make them feel cared for and less alone and isolated.

KINDNESS KITS

Please help promote neighborly spirit to older adults and let them know they’re in our thoughts and we’re thinking of them during these especially difficult times.  Recipients are living alone and do not have nearby family .  You will assemble the kit and bring them to one of our drop spots (address list is at bottom)  and we will then transport them to the recipients.  Kits can include activities that older adults can do while at home, snacks or just a little something to brighten someone’s day.  Below are a few possible items to include - please use your imagination!

  • Handwritten notes/cards - we’re thinking about you and hope you’re staying well.  Stumped on what to say?  We’ve included some examples of possible cards below.

  • Jigsaw Puzzles                             ●  Lip Balm / Lotion / Hand Sanitizer

  • Adult Coloring Books                 ●  Gum

  • Crossword/Sudoku Puzzles        ●  Popcorn - microwavable

  • Magazines                                    ●  Candy - chewy, hard and chocolate

  • Books you’d like to share           ●  Tootsie Rolls / Pops

  • Art Materials - pens, colored pencils, sketch pad, etc

  • Masks

KINDNESS CARDS

Here are some examples of some cute, easy cards that you can attach to your Kindness Kit or Flower Bouquet.  You are also welcome to make cards and we will make sure to deliver them - just to brighten someone's day!

TISSUE PAPER FLOWER BOUQUETS

Feeling a bit more crafty - put together an everlasting bouquet of tissue paper flowers to brighten someone’s table.  Assembled bouquets should be dropped off at any location listed below.  These bouquets will be shared with community members of A Little Help.
